May 2024 Citizens of the Month
Every Month, Newark City Schools honors 30 students in grades 4 through 12 from across the district as Citizens of the Month, for their leadership and actions inside and outside of the classroom. Students and their families are invited to a lunch in their honor to celebrate their achievements. The May Citizen of the Month luncheon was sponsored by Marathon. High school musicians from the band and orchestra programs each performed: a saxophone quartet, a horn and flute duet, and a viola quartet.

Juniors and Seniors
– Mark your calendars! The 2024 Prom will be held April 20 from 8-11 pm at the Grove by the River in Newark. This year’s theme is Disco Fever. All upperclassmen students affiliated with Newark City Schools (NHS, Newark Digital, and students at C-TEC whose home school is Newark High) are invited to attend.
Guests are permitted, but you must submit a completed guest form before you can purchase a guest ticket for any guest not currently attending Newark High School. Guest forms are available in the main office. If you are taking an NHS underclassman as your guest, you just need to provide their name and student ID number during purchase.
Tickets cost $30 per person and will be sold during the week of Prom (April 15-19) and can be bought from Mr. Lambert. There is no discount for buying a pair of tickets.
